Autumn Falls // Autumn Beauty Essentials

Now that we are well and truly into the autumn months I thought I would share with you my top beauty essentials.

As the days get colder our skin needs more moisture than in summer to keep it looking its best so a complete essential for me is a good moisturiser. As I have oily skin I don't need a really heavy moisturiser and I've been loving this one from Simple.

Vampy lips are a beauty essential for the autumn time. I don't tend to wear dark lips all that often but I do feel like they look nice with my pale skin; they're quite a contrast.

Again, as the days get colder not only does our skin suffer our lips do as well. There is nothing worse than dry, chapped lips so a heavy duty lip balm is also a complete essential for me. No one wants horrible, gross lips in autumn - especially when you're going to be wearing dark lips! Also, lip balm works really well to hydrate dry patches on your skin!

Autumn/ Winter Nail Varnishes

Now that we are fully in the grips of autumn/ winter I've been sporting something more season appropriate in the form of berry and nude colours on my nails.

From left to right I have; Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Mocha, Seventeen Colour Carnival in Dark Pink Shimmer, Rimmel Kate Salon Pro in Sensual Spice, Nails Inc in Hanover Square and Seventeen Gel Colour in Mocha.

The Seventeen nail varnishes are actually really good quality and last for ages. I had the end one on for about a week and it lasted well with minimal chips. Barry M are nail varnish gold so anything by them is worthy of a mention. This one is a matte finish so is something a little bit different to the standard glossy finish. The new Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnishes are also really good quality, this has a lovely bit of shimmer running through it which catches the light. Lastly, the Nails Inc nail varnish is a lovely autumnal colour and also lasts for a long time.

Those are my favourite autumn/ winter nail varnishes - what are yours?

Winter Q&A

As winter is in the air, I asked the lovely girls from the Secret Blogger Chat to ask me some questions relating to winter.

How do you keep your skin from getting dry in the winter?

I make sure to use a thicker moisturiser morning and night. Also, when cleansing my face I make sure to use something not too stripping - I really like Liz Earle cleanse and polish.

What's your go to hairstyle for winter?

I can't really do many things with my hair as it's so short that I can only just tie it up. I may wave it or straighten it but in terms of style I can't do a lot.

What's your favourite winter fashion trend?

Suede, definitely. Not only are they my favourite band it's a gorgeous trend. I love the texture of it and I just think it looks so nice.

If you could have Christmas dinner with 5 famous people, dead or alive, who would it be?

I like this question, I think I would choose:

1. Matty Healy - love, love, love.
2. Anne Frank - I think she would be really interesting.
3. Bradley James - my favourite actor
4. Brett Anderson - lead singer of Suede
5. Henry VIII - although you'd have to not say anything too offensive.

That's it for my winter q&a. What would you say?

AW15 Fashion Staples

AW15 Fashion Staples

AW15 Fashion Staples by tash-evans

Seen as winter is in full swing I thought I would show you my fashion staples for this season. I've seen a lot of suede and fringing recently in shops so I'm predicting that they will be huge trends for the upcoming seasons.

Coat - everyone needs a coat in winter, the UK is not exactly renowned for being the warmest place on earth so a coat is definitely an item that is essential. I actually bought a coat in the summer which you can see in my summer sales haul that I did in August here. It's actually one quite similar to this and I think it will go with everything and is very versatile.

Boots - I live in boots, they are a complete and utter necessity for me and I cannot live without at least 3 pairs. I really love ankle boots as I think they're so easy to throw on with any outfit. I find it so hard to find shoes that fit so I just find that boots are so much easier. They're so comfortable to wear and really complete an autumn/winter outfit.

Bag - As I said earlier, fringing has been huge in festival season this summer and it seems to be continuing into the winter months. You can't beat a black bag yet this has fringing on the front which instantly updates it and brings it into this season. I feel like it looks quite chic yet still has an element of fun injected into it.

Beanie - you always need a hat in winter, not only does it keep your head warm it also disguises a bad hair day in a flash. I love beanies and I think they also look good as well as being handy.

Suede Skirt - Again, I think that suede is also a huge trend for the autumn/winter months. It has a gorgeous texture and although this skirt is quite plain the texture of the suede just makes it more on trend. You can even wear this in the Spring months as although it works for winter it would also work in the slightly warmer months.

Those are my current autumn/winter fashion staples - what are yours?
