Maybelline the Falsies Review

Hello everybody,

Today I thought I would share with you my absolute new favourite mascara. I have some serious love for this product. After seeing countless youtubers and bloggers talking about it, I bought it. It is the most expensive mascara I've ever bought at £7.99, but I would definitely buy it again.

This mascara makes my eyelashes look super long and volumnised without looking clumpy which is exactly what I want it to do. You can definitely build up the mascara to create different finishes. I tend to go for a more everyday, natural look when I have school/the weekends. However, if I'm going out I can achieve a more dramatic, false lash effect finish. 

 As you can see from the photo above, my lashes look longer and more defined with a little bit of volume, which is definitely a look I strive for.

Overall, I am so in love with this mascara and may even go as far as saying it's my holy grail!

Guest Post: 5 Ways to be Happy

Hi everyone, I’m Katie from and today’s post is all about happiness. We all have those days where we feel a little down and sad; sometimes there isn't even a real reason why. However, there are little things that can make us feel a little better and here are my top 5 ways to make those sadder moments in life a litter bit happier! 

1. Listen to a happy song Science has proven that listening to a happy song can improve your mood. Okay, I'm not 100% sure that that is true but I stand by it! Put on an upbeat song and have a dance around. I promise it will lighten your mood instantly. A few of my favourites at the moment are Uptown Funk, Friday I’m in Love and Shake It Off.

2. Get up and out of bed There's nothing worse for making you feel rubbish than staying in bed and feeling sorry for yourself. Instead, if you're feeling down, have a shower, get dressed and go for a walk. The fresh air is bound to make you feel lighter and happier - unless it's raining. Then I wouldn't necessarily go for a walk but still get up and have a bath or shower, pamper yourself and have a spa day! 

3. Get creative I find that if I'm not in the greatest of moods, drawing often helps me get out of the funk. Currently my go to thing is my wreck this journal which I like to do if I'm feeling down. For some reason, creating something makes me feel better! If you aren't an arty person, maybe try cooking - just being productive can help.

4. Have a spring clean They say a tidy house equals a tidy mind and I don't know about you but I love it when my room looks good. If it's tidy, I automatically feel more content and productive…weird I know. Why not put some upbeat tunes on and have a dance whilst you’re doing it!

5. Smile You’ve heard the phrase fake it till you make it and I sometimes find that it applies to happiness to if you’re in a bit of a funk. Even  if I'm in a crap mood, putting on a smile tricks my mind into thinking I am happy and thus I start to become happy. Does this happen to anyone else? Put on a smile and laugh and the positive energy created makes you happy. Trust me on this one, it does work.

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Today I thought I'd show you my everyday make-up routine. It may seem like a lot of products in the picture below but this look takes me about 5-7 minutes to complete everyday.  

First of all, I make sure that my skin is clean and moisturised before I start. first thing I use is the Maybelline brow drama in medium brown. I just do a quick swipe of this through my brows just to keep them in place and a minuscule amount of colour.

I then go on to do a super thin line of the collection extreme felt tip liner on my upper lash line to thicken my eyelashes. I will then go on to apply my Maybelline the falsies mascara which I am in love with; it's so good!

Next I go on to use my concealer which is the Revlon colour stay. This can look a tiny bit too dark so I make sure that I blend it in well to my skin. Then, depending on my skin, I will either powder with my Rimmel stay matte or add  tiny bit of foundation just to make my skin look brighter. I don't use foundation every day as my skin is generally quite good but if it's looking a little lack lustre or red then I will apply a bit of that. 

Finally, I will either use a Maybelline baby lips on a school day or an m&s matte lipstick with a rimmel lipgloss in seduce over the top, that lip combo is my perfect your lips but better colour and I wear it a lot.

Guest Post: 5 Ways to use Coconut Oil

For those who don't know, coconut oil has many beauty benefits for your hair, skin and more. I want to share some of the many tips you can use this product for. Here are my top five favorite ways to incorporate this product into your beauty routine:

1. Deep conditioner: Massage a few tablespoons of coconut oil into your hair and leave it in for about 30 minutes before washing your hair as normal. I have used this treatment several times, and have noticed a change in the shine in my hair.

2. Body or face scrub: Mix equal parts of sea salt and coconut oil for a healthy, all natural scrub. For a face scrub, mix equal parts of coconut oil and baking soda. This scrub will reveal your bright, oil-free skin. Baking soda is a natural blackhead eraser. You’ll easily remove blemishes in addition to any impurities left in your pores.

3. Shaving cream or after-shave cream: Coconut oil will smooth hair follicles, which will help you achieve a smooth shave job and it won't dry out your skin. Or, apply after your shave to fight razor burn. I apply a tablespoon of the oil and massage in my legs before shaving. This makes it easier to get an effective shave. Plus, it’s cheaper than buying shaving cream.

4. Makeup remover: Gently massage coconut oil into your skin to remove your makeup. It's an inexpensive way to clear your skin and get a natural glow. If you don’t want to spend extra money on makeup remover or cleansing wipes, coconut oil is a great choice for you. Plus, it doubles as a moisturizer, so if you’re really on a budget, you can use a small amount and massage it into your skin.

5. Acne: Mix coconut oil with nutmeg, leave on your blemish for 10 to 15 minutes, and wash off. Acne stands no match for this dynamic duo. Nutmeg is a great way to draw out impurities and dirt from your pores, which cause acne problems.
