What I Got For Christmas 2015

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrate) and that you had a fantastic fun-filled festive day. I absolutely love to see what people got for Christmas so thought I would do the same. Usual disclaimer applies; I am not bragging. I am incredibly grateful for what I received and love everything.

First up I got some new straighteners. I spotted these in the sale and my parents bought them for me. I'd had my old ones for around 5-6 years and they had started to be a bit rubbish. I will definitely be using these all the time - I can't live without straighteners. They supposedly curl your hair as well.

I had the worst lady pains on Christmas day so when I received a hot water bottle toy he was used immediately - he definitely helped. Everyone loves new pyjamas and these look so cosy - can't wait to wear these. Lastly. I got some slippers as my old ones were falling apart.

Next I got a top from Miss Selfridge that ties at the front, it's a great basic with a slight twist. Then I got this sweatshirt which so incredibly soft. Finally, I got a dress, also from Miss Selfridge, I have another dress in the same shape and I really like it so I'm glad to have another. They're really versatile and comfortable.

Simple skincare is my absolute favourite so I'm so happy to have some more stuff to use when my old stuff runs out.

Next I got a Bumble & Bumble volume set, I'd seen this in Boots and wanted to try it out - I can't wait to try it out. Then I finally got some Real Techniques brushes, I'd heard nothing but good things about these brushes and omg they're so soft. Finally, I got a Benefit skincare set which I can't wait to try. The packaging is so cute, I love the little bottles.

I then got Tanya Burr lipgloss in Afternoon Tea, an eyeliner and smudger from Claudia, 3 Zoella fizz bars, a Batiste dry shampoo and New Look perfume in Devotion - it smells delicious.

I'd wanted a new purse for ages as I'd been getting really annoyed with it for age, I saw this one a while ago and it ticked all the boxes. Then I got a pencil case which I love, it looks like leather and is so nice.

Finally, I got these boots. They're gorgeous and I can't wait to wear them. They look slightly like Doc Martens (kind of).

That's everything I got for Christmas. What did you get this year?

Christmas Eve Box

Hope you had an amazing Christmas and that you had a good day. This year, my mum decided to make a Christmas Eve box for me which included all the essentials for the day. It was such a good idea and I feel like this will become a new tradition.

The box was packaged beautifully, with a little ribbon and bow. Inside everything was individually wrapped and I was incredibly excited to find out what was inside.

My mum knows how much I LOVE the smell of cinnamon; it is such a gorgeous scent and I can smell this all day. Literally when I opened it I just smelt it, omg I love it.

Then I got some new pyjamas, this is a night dress which I love. I wore it on Christmas Eve and it was incredibly cosy.

These hot chocolates were delicious on Christmas Eve - I got a candy cane flavour, raspberry and double chocolate - they made very good hot chocolates!

This is adorable! I absolutely love him, I am obsessed with cuddly toys and this guy (Preston) is just gorgeous!

I then got some snowman shaped marshmallows (which I had on my hot chocolate) and some Lindt balls (?), I am obsessed with these - they're delicious.

Lastly, I got a shower gel which smells delicious. I used this on Christmas Day to make myself smell lovely all day, haha!

That's what I received in my Christmas Eve box. I'm incredibly grateful for what I got and love all of it.

Have you ever had a Christmas Eve box?

Let it Snow // Christmas Baking

I am a notoriously terrible baker. I cannot remember the last thing I baked that actually turned out quite well. As part of the Secret Blogger Project one of the posts was baking, when I got a little jar full of ingredients I thought it couldn't go that badly!

The jar didn't actually say what the ingredients were so I can only guess;

- Raisins
- Flour
- Brown Sugar or Cinnamon
- Oats

1. Add all the dry ingredients into a bowl.
2. Mix Slightly

3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence and mix.
4. Add 65g of butter and mix.
5. Add half an egg and mix.

6. Once your ingredients are mixed together, you can form little balls and place onto a baking tray.
7. Cook for 10-15 minutes.

8. Serve when cooled!

These actually turned out quite well for me!

What have you been baking?

My Favourite Festive Films

Seen as Christmas is just around the corner and there a myriad of Christmas films on the box I thought I would share with you all my top 3 festive films.

1. Elf
Elf will always be one of my favourite Christmas films, it instantly puts me in the festive spirit and I love Buddy's joy at the small things. It has some cheesy jokes, funny moments and is full of festive cheer.

2. Nativity
Normally, I absolutely HATE musicals, completely and utterly hate them. However, this is my onw exception, Nativity is completely feel good film. It's so funny and the characters are just brilliant - I love it.

3. A Christmas Princess
A rather more understated film that not many people know of. This is beautiful film that isn't corny or cheesy at all. First of all, it's British and stars the gorgeous Katie McGrath (of Merlin). It is still Christmassy and makes you feel warm inside but it doesn't have that in your face-ness of a typical Christmas film.

Those are my favourite festive films - what are yours?

Christmas Playlist 2015

At Christmas time we all love a good Christmas song that we can sing a long to and that will instantly lift our festive mood. Here are my favourite 5:

1. All I want for Christmas is You - Mariah Carey
A classic but it's so good.

2. Only Wish - Britney Spears
A slightly lesser known song but still just as good.

3. Proper Crimbo - Bo Selecta
A comedy Christmas song which is just brilliant.

4. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Mel and Kim
I just really like this Christmas song.

5. Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea
This instantly reminds me of Christmas.

Those are my 5 favourite Christmas songs - what are yours?

Clothes Show Live Haul

I'd been wanting to go to Clothes Show Live for such a long time and this year I finally got to attend. I was so excited to go and couldn't wait to grab some beauty bargains!

The first stall we went to was Models Own. They had such good deals; you needed to buy for 4 products for £10 and that would get you a goodie bag and magazine. We chose 3 nail varnishes and an eyeshadow palette. That got us a huge goodie bag and a 'Heat' Magazine.

Next Rimmel had £10 goodie bags which again was an amazing deal. You could choose from 3 sets and I went for the Queen of Bling set. This came with a fake tan (which I won't be using), mascara, lipstick. eyeliner, nail varnish and a couple of samples.

Barry M's goodie bag also came with a cute makeup bag which my mum is having. The bag contained, 6 nail varnishes, 2 eyeshadows, 2 lipglosses, a blusher and then an eyeliner. Again, this was such a bargain and I love all the nail varnish colours.

Lastly, W7 had a goodie bag or £10 for 5 items which is what we went for. We got the concealer palette, mascara, beauty blender, plumping gloss and finally a blush.

All of these things are going to be shared between me and my mum, but we got such good deals. I would definitely recommend going to the Clothes Show. There were so many brands and stalls - I could've spent a lot more!

Have you ever been to Clothes Show Live?

Let it Snow // Deck the Halls

Now that Chrismas is drawing ever closer, it seems like the perfect opportunity to show you our Christmas tree and living room.

Our Christmas tree is typically gold with splashes of blue and copper. I really like it and fibre optics are just so easy!

I really like our fireplace, we have really cute fairy lights that make the room feel cosy. We also have so many ornaments that add to the festive feel.

There's a really brief  look at our Christmas decs. Apologies this post has been really short, I've had so much to do that blogging has just taken a back seat!

How do you decorate your house for Christmas?

Let it Snow // Christmas Gift Guide 2015

Christmas Gift Guide 2015

Seen as Christmas is only around the corner, I can imagine that we're all trying to find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. So, I thought I would put together a small gift guide of things that, personally, I would love to receive.

1. A Library of Fragrance Perfume
These perfumes are such a genius idea, I absolutely love the concept of them. There is such a variety of unusual scents that I'm sure anyone would love to receive one of these!

2. Zoella
Everything from the new Zoella range is just so cute; they make the perfect stocking fillers. This little purse is adorable and it just the right size to be a little makeup bag.

3. Soap and Glory
Soap and Glory is the king of Christmas. They have so many gorgeously scented, wonder filled gift ideas that getting any one of them would make a cracking Christmas gift. I really like this one as it's all shower gels (am I the only one who ends up with endless amounts of body butters and is still trying to finish them all 2 years later?),so the fact their shower gels means I would actually use them.

4. Water Speakers
These are such a cool idea, as you play music they put on some kind of light show in water. It's such a cool idea that looks great. I'd love to get some of these.

5. Scarf
Let's face it, we all love to receive winter woolies at Christmas, am I right? This scarf looks super cosy and has a subtle nod to  Christmas whilst still being wearable throughout January and February.

6. Tanya Burr
Again, another Youtuber, but there Christmas ranges are so cute and affordable. This set comes with a nail file, nail varnish and lipgloss. It would make such a cute gift to anyone who loves their makeup!

What would you like to get for Christmas?

My Favourite Things about Winter

Although I love summer, the warm weather, clothes and holidays, there's something quite nice when the winter months roll in. It's a very comfortable time of the year and I also quite like the winter colours and the transition of seasons so I thought I would show you my favourite things about winter.

1. Jumpers

Jumpers are so comfortable and you can't beat snuggling up in a cosy jumper and braving a crisp winter day. I love the simplicity of jeans, skinny jeans and boots; it's such a simple and easy look yet is so winter appropriate.

2. Baths

I love having baths all year round but in winter you can have them more often. It's so nice to get into a warm bubble bath and completely pamper yourself. Having a bath in winter is so cosy and the atmosphere is just so relaxing.

3. Comfort Food

In winter, all you want is roast dinners and good ol' comfort food, in summer I tend to want something lighter so it's nice to have a change. There's something so homely about winter food and it's nice to snuggle up and eat your favourite foods.

4. Seasonal Makeup

I love berry colours on the nails so as soon as winter comes I'm all about those berry tones. Although I love bright colours and pastels for summer I love the seasonal change from summer to winter.

5. Pale Skin

As I am very pale, as soon as winter rolls around instantly my pale skin isn't as obvious and I feel like I match the season, haha.

Those are my favourite things about winter - what do you like about winter?

Autumn Falls // Autumn Beauty Essentials

Now that we are well and truly into the autumn months I thought I would share with you my top beauty essentials.

As the days get colder our skin needs more moisture than in summer to keep it looking its best so a complete essential for me is a good moisturiser. As I have oily skin I don't need a really heavy moisturiser and I've been loving this one from Simple.

Vampy lips are a beauty essential for the autumn time. I don't tend to wear dark lips all that often but I do feel like they look nice with my pale skin; they're quite a contrast.

Again, as the days get colder not only does our skin suffer our lips do as well. There is nothing worse than dry, chapped lips so a heavy duty lip balm is also a complete essential for me. No one wants horrible, gross lips in autumn - especially when you're going to be wearing dark lips! Also, lip balm works really well to hydrate dry patches on your skin!

Autumn Falls // Autumn Playlist

As part of the Secret Blogger Project today I will be showing you some of my favourite tracks that I have been listening to this autumn.

1. Breaking Away // Bosshouse
2. Attitude // Suede
3. Ten Tonne Skeleton // Royal Blood
4. Come Alive // Hanni El Khatib
5. Metal Mickey // Suede
6. M.O.N.E.Y. // The 1975
7. Love Me // The 1975
8. Forth of July // Fall out Boy
9. T-Shirt Weather // Circa Waves
10. Cocoon // Catfish And the Bottlemen

Apologies for the short post, I've been so busy recently!

What have you been listening to this autumn?

Autumn/ Winter Nail Varnishes

Now that we are fully in the grips of autumn/ winter I've been sporting something more season appropriate in the form of berry and nude colours on my nails.

From left to right I have; Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Mocha, Seventeen Colour Carnival in Dark Pink Shimmer, Rimmel Kate Salon Pro in Sensual Spice, Nails Inc in Hanover Square and Seventeen Gel Colour in Mocha.

The Seventeen nail varnishes are actually really good quality and last for ages. I had the end one on for about a week and it lasted well with minimal chips. Barry M are nail varnish gold so anything by them is worthy of a mention. This one is a matte finish so is something a little bit different to the standard glossy finish. The new Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnishes are also really good quality, this has a lovely bit of shimmer running through it which catches the light. Lastly, the Nails Inc nail varnish is a lovely autumnal colour and also lasts for a long time.

Those are my favourite autumn/ winter nail varnishes - what are yours?

Winter Q&A

As winter is in the air, I asked the lovely girls from the Secret Blogger Chat to ask me some questions relating to winter.

How do you keep your skin from getting dry in the winter?

I make sure to use a thicker moisturiser morning and night. Also, when cleansing my face I make sure to use something not too stripping - I really like Liz Earle cleanse and polish.

What's your go to hairstyle for winter?

I can't really do many things with my hair as it's so short that I can only just tie it up. I may wave it or straighten it but in terms of style I can't do a lot.

What's your favourite winter fashion trend?

Suede, definitely. Not only are they my favourite band it's a gorgeous trend. I love the texture of it and I just think it looks so nice.

If you could have Christmas dinner with 5 famous people, dead or alive, who would it be?

I like this question, I think I would choose:

1. Matty Healy - love, love, love.
2. Anne Frank - I think she would be really interesting.
3. Bradley James - my favourite actor
4. Brett Anderson - lead singer of Suede
5. Henry VIII - although you'd have to not say anything too offensive.

That's it for my winter q&a. What would you say?

AW15 Fashion Staples

AW15 Fashion Staples

AW15 Fashion Staples by tash-evans

Seen as winter is in full swing I thought I would show you my fashion staples for this season. I've seen a lot of suede and fringing recently in shops so I'm predicting that they will be huge trends for the upcoming seasons.

Coat - everyone needs a coat in winter, the UK is not exactly renowned for being the warmest place on earth so a coat is definitely an item that is essential. I actually bought a coat in the summer which you can see in my summer sales haul that I did in August here. It's actually one quite similar to this and I think it will go with everything and is very versatile.

Boots - I live in boots, they are a complete and utter necessity for me and I cannot live without at least 3 pairs. I really love ankle boots as I think they're so easy to throw on with any outfit. I find it so hard to find shoes that fit so I just find that boots are so much easier. They're so comfortable to wear and really complete an autumn/winter outfit.

Bag - As I said earlier, fringing has been huge in festival season this summer and it seems to be continuing into the winter months. You can't beat a black bag yet this has fringing on the front which instantly updates it and brings it into this season. I feel like it looks quite chic yet still has an element of fun injected into it.

Beanie - you always need a hat in winter, not only does it keep your head warm it also disguises a bad hair day in a flash. I love beanies and I think they also look good as well as being handy.

Suede Skirt - Again, I think that suede is also a huge trend for the autumn/winter months. It has a gorgeous texture and although this skirt is quite plain the texture of the suede just makes it more on trend. You can even wear this in the Spring months as although it works for winter it would also work in the slightly warmer months.

Those are my current autumn/winter fashion staples - what are yours?

70's Suede

This has been an autumn outfit I have been loving recently. Suede is such a huge trend at the moment so I am loving this top (plus, it's so soft I can't stop stroking myself)! Denim skirts have also been popping up everywhere recently and I love them. They work in all seasons and look quite smart yet casual at the same time.

Skirt: New Look
Top: New Look

What have you been wearing in the autumn months?

Granada Haul

For my 16th birthday, I went away to Granada with the school. The trip itself was incredible and I had an absolutely amazing time (let me know if you would like me to do a quick post about my time). There were so many cute shops and I bought some really lovely pieces so I thought I would do a small haul.

We do actually have Tiger in the UK, and one has just opened up near me which is exciting. I've had quite an obsession with rings recently so wanted to get a ring holder. This one was adorable and only 2 euros so was a complete bargain. It's a mint/blue colour which goes really well in my bedroom.

This shop was just omg, *heart eye emoji*. Me and my friends went back many times to visit - the stuff in there was just gorgeous and it was so cheap! On the last day we had about 2 hours and I have around 20 euros so wanted to get rid of some of it so bought quite a few things.

I first of all bought this pen which says 'dance in the rain' , I really liked it and it was only 2 euros. As I said before rings have become my thing so I bought one - you can't really see it in the photo as my camera was being rubbish! I also bought a pair of star earrings, stars (and anchors) are my things so I loved these. The notebook has such a stunning background to it that I couldn't resist! Quite a few of us bought this notebook as it was so pretty (we also got it for my Spanish teacher as a thank you for the trip as she said this was her favourite quote). And finally I got this bracelet for my mum to add to her present, though I may steal it off of her!!

Lastly, nearly all of my friends bought a bandana and wore them throughout the trip, I don't really know why, but they were 1.50 so it didn't break the bank.

That's it for the things I got from Granada. It was such a great trip and I highly recommend the city. The Alhambra was stunning and I would love to go back again for another birthday!

Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruitti Range

Today I am talking about the new Zoella beauty products. I was a fan of Zoe's original line but when I heard she was bringing out a 'tutti fruitti' range I was beyond excited. I love things that smell fruity so I knew I wanted to try some things.

First things I got was the Foam Sweet Foam shower gel. This smells really fruity and sweet yet still fresh and not overpowering. This lathers up really nicely and makes my skin feel smooth after using it. You can smell the scent on your skin for a short while afterwards and the packaging is adorable.

I am a lip balm-aholic so when I discovered that one was going to be added to the line I really wanted to try it out. I was surprised at how pigmented it was and it feels really moisturising on the lips. It's not sticky at all and can be worn alone or underneath/on top of something else. The scent isn't the same as the whole range but it does still smell nice as well. Again, the packaging is really cute and practical.

My favourite part of the whole range (that I've tried so far) is the Let's Spritz body mist. First of all, look at the packaging! It is gorgeous, the colour scheme is so nice and the lace on the back is beautiful! The actual scent is so nice, it's fruity and sweet yet it's still subtle as well. This has become my summer staple scent.

I'm really impressed with the whole of Zoe's range, she's done so well! Have you tried anything from the range? Let me know!

Review // Collection Matt Lip Butter

Hello everyone!

Recently on a trip to Superdrug I had a bit of splurge and bought a few new lip things - which I really didn't need. This matt lip butter caught my eye as it intrigued me, how can something matt also be buttery?

The shade I bought was different to my usual nude/pink, it's a super vibrant orange/red colour that will complement a tan. The colour is really eye-catching and I'm surprised at how much I like it.

The crayon is matt on the lips yet doesn't feel at all drying when on. It wears away nicely so you're not left with that awkward line around your mouth. In terms of lasting power as well, it stays on for ages! I had to scrub this swatch off my hand for quite a while. It lasts through eating and drinking which was impressive!

Overall, I really like this lip crayon and for the price (£2.50), it's a complete bargain! I will definitely be picking up some more shades!

Have you tried these?
